libraries use it, the benefits and the costs, and how to join our free,
virtual community of practice ? Nonprofit Commons in Second Life. Hear
from Susan Tenby, Jessica Dally, and Renne Brock-Richmond who will:

- help you understand how your organization can utilize this powerful
tool,
- create social change while collaborating within this innovative
platform,
- and show you how to join our large community in the virtual world.

(講師詳細)
Susan Tenby

Susan Tenby is the Online Community Director at San Francisco-based
nonprofit TechSoup Global and leads an active community of nonprofit
staff and volunteers in Second Life. She founded and manages the
Nonprofit Commons in Second Life program, four nonprofits-only islands
in Second Life that house over 80 organizations, and hundreds of
volunteers, to lower the barrier of access to virtual worlds. She
organizes nonprofits across online social networks. She speaks regularly
at conferences about online communities, online social networks & virtual
worlds. She was honored to be invited to testify before the US Congress
on Nonprofits and Second Life, by Congressman Markey and was called out
by Jon Stewart, on the Daily Show, for her congressional testimony and
her cheeky avatar name. Susan is a writer on Online Community for
nonprofits. She has been a finalist for the Linden Prize, a prize for
social benefit work in Second Life and is a nominee for the San Jose
Tech Museum’s TechAwards.

Renne Brock-Richmond

Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond ( Zinnia Zauber in Second Life ) is an artist,
instructor, and superhero promoting the importance of creative education
and community participation in the Arts that are active and inclusive.
Renne is an Arts advocate and has established, produced, and supported
creative networks, events, and nonprofits by facilitating collaborative
connections among artists, educational institutions, organizations, and
the community like the CommonGround Networking Party for Nonprofit
Commons in Second Life. She created two nonprofits and has served on the
board of trustees for several nonprofit organizations to introduce the
use of technology and professional excellence in the Arts. To learn more,
please visit her website www.uniqueasyou.com.

Jessica Dally

Teacher, speaker, networker and writer, Jessica is the founder of
Seattle Free School, a nonprofit run without cash donations of any kind.
Jessica believes in mobilizing people to make change and grow community.
Her goal is to inspire people to ignore the naysayers and their “rules”
of how things must work so that they may effect change in their own
communities.

Jessica also works as a Help Desk Monkey (unofficial title) for
Community Voice Mail, serving as their unofficial Social Media guru and
Second Life representative. She has helped other nonprofits set up in
Second Life and created interactive exhibits to create involvement and
visibility for CVM.

She lives in Seattle with her chickens and bees and spends her free time
riding her bike, teaching people to ride motorcycles and make cheese and
soap (not at the same time!) and reading. To learn more please visit
her website www.jessdally.com.
